Trails, Tales, and Traditions: Winter Fun with the Robinson Settlers

Join Us for a Winter Play Day Celebrating 200 Years of the Peter Robinson Immigration!
 

Step back in time and experience the joys and challenges of life as an early Canadian settler at our Winter Play Day in Downeyville, Ontario!

 

Families and children of all ages (0 - 99!) are invited to enjoy a fun-filled day of interactive activities, games, and storytelling in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Peter Robinson Immigration.


Event Highlights:

  • Trek through history on a Historic Snowshoe Trail

  • Play traditional Pioneer Games

  • Enjoy the sweet treat of making Maple Taffy on Snow

  • Hunt for historical treasures in a Settler Scavenger Hunt

  • Cozy up by the fire for Storytelling of Settler Tales

  • Learn the art of Animal Tracking

  • Challenge yourself in a Winter Obstacle Course

  • Test your teamwork with the Log Pulling Contest

  • Join in some shoe shinny (road hockey)!


This day promises to be a mix of learning, fun, and community spirit as we honour the legacy of the Peter Robinson settlers who braved the journey to build a new life in Canada.
